Label All Controls in GoDaddy Website Builder
- Open your site in GoDaddy Website Builder and navigate to the page containing the controls you want to label.
- Select the first interactive element (button, form field, image link, icon, menu trigger) and click it to open the settings panel on the right.
- For form fields:
- Click the form → select the field you want to edit.
- In the sidebar, enter a clear Label such as “Email Address” or “Full Name”.
- Ensure the label remains visible; do not rely on placeholder-only text.
- For buttons:
- Select the button → in the sidebar, edit the Button Text.
- Use descriptive actions like “Submit Form”, “Contact Us”, or “View Services”.
- For image links used as navigation:
- Select the image → click Settings.
- Open the Alt Text field and describe the image’s function (e.g., “Go to Gallery”).
- For icons acting as buttons (hamburger menu, close icon, arrow icons):
- Select the icon → open Settings.
- Add descriptive Alt Text or Label such as “Open Menu”, “Close Modal”, or “Next Slide”.
- For social icons:
- Select the social icon module → click the specific icon.
- Edit the Label (e.g., “Visit our Instagram”).
- For product cards in GoDaddy’s shop blocks:
- Select the product block → ensure product titles are filled out clearly.
- Titles act as accessible labels for clickable product areas.
- Repeat steps 2–8 for all interactive elements on the page to ensure every control has a unique, descriptive label.
- Switch to Mobile view and confirm mobile-only controls (hamburger menu, mobile buttons) also include descriptive labels.
- Use Preview mode to verify that labels display correctly and assistive technology identifies controls properly.
