Maintain Consistent Navigation in Wix
- Open your site in the Wix Editor and navigate to any page that contains your main navigation menu.
- Select the navigation element (standard Wix Menu or a custom header built with strips, boxes, or buttons).
- In the toolbar, click Save to Site Theme or Save as Reusable Section (depending on your version of Wix).
- Name it something like “Site Navigation” or “Global Header”.
- Switch to another page using the left Pages panel.
- Check whether your saved navigation section appears automatically at the top of the page.
- If it does not, click the Add (+) button → Sections → My Sections and insert your saved “Site Navigation” section.
- Verify that all menu items are identical across pages:
- Select the menu → click Manage Menu.
- Confirm labels (e.g., “Home”, “About”, “Services”) use the same text across all pages.
- Ensure each item links to the correct page from the Link settings.
- Review the navigation’s accessibility settings:
- Select the navigation section → Accessibility.
- Add a descriptive label such as “Site Navigation”.
- Confirm keyboard focus ring is enabled for menu items.
- Check your mobile menu:
- Switch to Mobile view.
- Select the hamburger icon → Accessibility → ensure it has a label like “Open Menu”.
- Confirm menu items match the desktop version exactly.
- Repeat steps 4–9 for every page to confirm each one uses the same saved navigation section in the same position.
- Click Preview and test the navigation on multiple pages to verify consistency of layout, labels, links, and focus states.
- Publish your site and test the live pages to ensure the navigation behaves identically throughout the site.
