Use One Page Heading in Wix

  1. Open your site in the Wix Editor and navigate to the page you want to review.
  2. Click the main title of the page—this should represent the page’s primary topic.
  3. In the floating text toolbar, open the Text Theme or HTML Tag dropdown (varies by element type).
  4. Set the main title to H1. This will serve as the single, primary heading for the page.
  5. Click other text elements that visually look like headings.
  6. Open their HTML Tag dropdown and change any additional H1 tags to H2 or lower (H3, H4, etc.) depending on the content hierarchy.
  7. If any headings are plain text without a tag:
    • Select the text element.
    • Open the HTML Tag menu.
    • Assign the correct semantic heading level (H2–H6).
  8. Review each section of the page to ensure headings follow a clear order:
    • H1: page title (only once)
    • H2: major section titles
    • H3–H4: subsections, if needed
  9. Switch to Mobile view and confirm that heading tags remain correct even if text sizes differ visually.
  10. Click Preview and scroll through the page to ensure the hierarchy feels logical and matches the visual structure.
  11. Publish your site and use the browser’s accessibility inspector to confirm only one H1 appears on the live page and all other headings follow a consistent order.
