Run a Quick Automated Scan in Wix
- Publish your site by clicking Publish in the top right of the Wix Editor so the latest version is live.
- Open the published page in your browser and copy its full URL.
- Open an automated accessibility tool such as WAVE, Lighthouse, or the WAVE Browser Extension in a new tab.
- If using an online checker (e.g., WAVE Web tool):
- Paste your page URL into the tool’s input field.
- Click Analyze or Scan.
- If using a browser extension (WAVE or Axe):
- Navigate to your live Wix page.
- Click the extension icon to instantly generate a scan.
- Review the results:
- Look for errors like missing alt text, contrast issues, duplicate headings.
- Check for alerts related to structure, labels, or keyboard access.
- Open the Details panel in the tool to view locations of each issue on the page.
- Return to the Wix Editor and fix the identified issues:
- Add missing alt text,
- Adjust colors to improve contrast,
- Correct heading structure or labels.
- Republish the site, open the live page again, and rerun the automated scan to confirm errors are resolved.
- Repeat the scan on all key pages of your site to ensure consistent accessibility coverage.
- Document any remaining items flagged as “manual checks” and plan to resolve them with additional testing or content updates.
