Make Click Targets Large in Wix
- Open your site in the Wix Editor and navigate to the page containing buttons, links, icons, or other interactive elements.
- Select the first interactive element on the canvas (button, menu item, icon, image acting as a link, etc.).
- In the right-hand panel, click Layout or Design depending on the element type.
- Increase the element’s size or padding so the total clickable area is at least 44px × 44px:
- For buttons: adjust Padding (top/bottom/left/right) until the height and width meet the minimum size.
- For link text: increase Padding around the text via the Layout panel.
- For icons: wrap the icon in a Box or Button if necessary and enlarge the container.
- If the element is an image that acts as a link:
- Select the image → Layout.
- Increase the image size or add internal padding via a container box.
- Review the navigation menu:
- Select the menu → Customize Design.
- Increase vertical padding so each menu item reaches the 44px height guideline.
- Check custom mobile menus:
- Switch to Mobile view.
- Select the hamburger icon → expand its container size so it exceeds 44px × 44px.
- Open the mobile menu and adjust padding on menu items for comfortable tapping.
- For icon-based triggers (e.g., close icons, arrows, tabs):
- Select the element → wrap it in a Box if needed.
- Resize the box to increase the interactive area without distorting the icon.
- Switch to each breakpoint (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile) and ensure click targets remain large enough on all layouts. Adjust padding or spacing per device if necessary.
- Click Preview and test by hovering or clicking elements to ensure they are easy to activate without precision.
- Publish your site and test on an actual mobile device to confirm all interactive elements feel comfortably tappable.
